Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW) CEO Michael Hudson: “Exploration is Back” as Mawson Discovers Extensive New Gold-Bearing Hydrothermal System

Gerardo Del Real: This is Gerardo Del Real with Resource Stock Digest. Joining me from PDAC is Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW)(OTC: MWSNF) Chairman and CEO, Mr. Michael Hudson. Michael, how are you today?

Michael Hudson: Good, thanks, Gerardo. Nice to be back.

Gerardo Del Real: I appreciate you taking the time. I mentioned you're out at PDAC. How's things going? How's the sentiment there?

Michael Hudson: Bullish would be the term I could use simply. Gerardo, it's been many years since I've seen it like this. Exploration is back. People understand the value creation that exploration can make. Huge interest from a variety of levels that go right across the sector.  From our core that we've got on display and the booth being full from start to end.  And you can hear my voice, it's a little worn out!

Gerardo Del Real: I'm glad to hear the excitement's back. It's obviously an opportune time for Mawson. You got your drill permits. You're now in the midst of a very aggressive drill program. You had news on March the 6th and the headline reads, "Mawson discovers extensive new gold-bearing hydrothermal system." Can you go into the details of that? How is the drilling coming along, Mike?

Michael Hudson: That sounds a little technical, but basically, it's going well. We have extended the area and style of mineralization. From a geological point of view, it's exceedingly interesting. So, we put some results out a number of weeks ago when I last spoke to you at a project called Palokas where we doubled the depth of the area. We had a little bit of drilling in and had some fantastic interceptions including 10 meters out at 10 plus grams. We just moved the drill rigs over the last few weeks, much further south, 1800 meters south, excuse my metric. And we found an extensive zone of what we call a hydrothermal alteration and mineralized rock, so we put out two new results. We hit a 50 meter thick zone of mineralization, that averaged half a gram. But more importantly it was the style of the mineralization. We saw a very interesting sulphidic and potassic style of mineralization, that is a variation on what we've seen earlier. And it has a potential, the system is big and I suppose these drill holes further explain how big the gold mineralization system is in Finland.

We've got higher grades within a broader zone, and more importantly we've got another dozen holes in the lab at the moment that we're looking forward to seeing results from. And we continue to drill. We have 5 rigs on site now, so it's all a great work in progress.

Gerardo Del Real: Excellent, so you have 5 rigs on site and you have a dozen holes at the lab that you're waiting for the assays to come back on, is that correct?

Michael Hudson: That's correct. Actually it's 4 and we've got one mobilizing shortly, so just to be precise. But lots of holes in the lab, and drill results will continue to flow, through May into early June I’d expect.

Gerardo Del Real: Fantastic, well Mike again I want to thank you very much for taking the time to join me. I'm glad to hear the sentiment is much better, then it’s been in past years. And again I think it's coming at just the right time for Mawson.

So hopefully as those assay results come back in, we can have you back on.

Michael Hudson: Great Gerardo, I look forward to it. Exploration’s back, it’s fantastic.

Gerardo Del Real: Well that's great to hear Mike, we'll chat soon thank you.
